Installation of Win95/98 DialUp Networking

This page provides information on how to install DialUp Networking (DUN) feature of Windows 95/98.

If DUN is not already installed on your PC you will need Windows95/98 setup CD. Please have it handy or make sure that you have a copy of the CD on your hard disk before you start DUN installation.

You might already have DUN installed! To check, please double click the "MyComputer" icon on your desktop.

If you see DialUp Networking icon in the MyComputer window, then DUN is already installed on your PC.

 

If you have DUN already installed please proceed to Setup of a New Connection

INSTALLING DIALUP NETWORKING

Important : You will need the Windows Distribution CD (Setup CD) or its image on your hard disk.

  • Click on the The start button located on the bottom left of your screen. button, then on start --> settings --> control panel
  • Double Click on Double Click on Add / Remove Programs
  • Click on Click on Windows Setup tab and then Double Click on Double Cllick on Communications
  • Put a checkmark beside Dial Up Networkingjust like the diagram below if you don't already have one there. As long as Dial up Networking has a check mark its up to you if you want to check the rest.
  • Then click OK and follow the instructions on the screen. 

    • Once you complete the DUN setup, (probably after a reboot) click the "MyComputer" and then click the "DiapUp Networking icons. Then please proceed to creating a connection to Bilkent modems.
