Dial-Up Connection to Bilkent Computer Center

This page provides information on how to get and install Internet connection software for your personal computer.

For the impatient:
Dialup Service Numbers:
From within the University using regular 4 digit extension lines, please dial 2850
From within the University using 3 digit extension lines, please dial 200
From Telekom lines, please dial 2664010 (pbx)

DNS Server: 139.179.10.13
IP Address: Server Assigned IP addresses.

Turn the "Open up terminal window after dialing" option "ON". (You must see a black login screen after the modem connection is established. YOU CANNOT LOGIN without using this "Post-dial terminal window".

Do not forget to append your domain suffix to your userID (".bcc", ".fen", ".ctp" etc.; choose one depending on your account's domain.)

You will need :

  1. A modem (External or internal) with at least 14.400 baud data transmission speed ( 33,600 baud or above recommended; you will not be eble to use 56K modems to full capacity; although they will work fine at 33,600 bps speed),
  2. 16 MByte or more memory (RAM) is strongly recommended,
